CSM Robinson has four combat tours, including Operations Desert Shield/Desert Storm, Operation Intrinsic Action 1993, 2002 (Kuwait) Operation Iraqi Freedom I (Liberation of Iraq), II (Transition of Iraq), and III (Iraqi Governance).  CSM Robinson has graduated from the Primary Leadership Development Course, Basic Non-Commissioned Officer Course, Advanced Non-Commissioned Officer Course, First Sergeant Course, Master Gunner School, Basic Instructor Training Course, Instructor Operator Course, Master Fitness Course, Equal Opportunity Course, Battle Staff Course, Javelin Operator Course, and United States Sergeants Major Academy Class 57.

CSM Robinson earned a B.S. in Liberal Arts from Excelsior College and a Real Estate License from Pike's Peak Community College, Colorado Springs, CO.

His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star (3 Star), Meritorious Service Medal (4OLC), the Army Commendation Medal (9OLC), Army Achievement Medal (11OLC), Meritorious Unit Citation, Good Conduct Medal (8th), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (2OLC), Southwest Asia Bronze Star (3 Star), Southwest Asia Service Medal (1OLC), Iraqi Campaign Medal with Campaign Star (4 Star), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal (1OLC), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal (1OLC), Combat Infantryman Badge (with star), and Expert Infantryman Badge. In October 1996, he was inducted into the Audie Murphy Club.
