CSM Arthur A. Conners III entered the Army on May 18, 1987 and attended One Station Unit Training as a Field Artillery Cannoneer assigned to 3rd Battalion, 321st Field Artillery Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Some of his previous assignments include Alpha Battery 1-84 FA, Fort Lewis,Washington; Bravo Battery, 1-320th FA, Fort Campbell, Kentucky; Bravo Battery 4-82nd FA, Hanau, Germany; Headquarters Battery 4-82nd FA, Fort Polk, Louisiana; Foxtrot Battery 7th FA, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii; Alpha Battery, 2-362nd (TS)(FA), Fort Carson, Colorado; Alpha, Service, Bravo, and Headquarters Batteries 3-29th FA, Fort Carson Colorado; HQ 1-37 FA, Fort Lewis, Washington; HQ 4-27 FA, Fort Bliss, Texas. He is currently the 2nd HBCT, 1 AD Command Sergeant Major.

His military education includes all levels of the Noncommissioned Officer Education System, Battle Staff, and Air Assault School. CSM Conners civilian education includes a Bachelor of Science Degree from Excelsior University, and currently pursuing his MBA at Northcentral University.

His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star with two Leaf Cluster,Purple Heart, Meritorious Service Medal with four Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Commendation Medal with Valor and three Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Achievement Medal with five Oak Leaf Clusters, Good Conduct Medal 8th award, National Defense Service Medal with one Bronze Star, Southwest Asia Service Medal with four Bronze Stars, Iraqi Campaign Medal with four Campaign Stars, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (4), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (5), Kuwait Liberation Medal (Kuwait), Kuwait Liberation Medal (Saudi Arabia), Army Valorous Unit Award, Army Meritorious Unit Commendation with two Oak Leaf Cluster, Combat Action Badge, and Air Assault Badge. CSM Conners is also a member of the Order of Saint Barbara and the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club.
