January 30, 2008 (The Editor’s Desk is updated each business day.) Education and volunteeringIndividuals with higher levels of educational attainment volunteer at higher rates than those with less education. Among persons age 25 and over, more than 4 in 10 college graduates volunteered during the year ending in September 2007. In comparison, fewer than 2 in 10 high school graduates and almost 1 in 10 of those with less than a high school diploma volunteered in that period. These data are from a supplement to the September 2007 Current Population Survey.
