NR 13-001: State highway over Center Hill Dam restricted to one lane

LANCASTER, Tenn. (Jan. 9, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announces that Highway 96/141 over Center Hill Dam is being restricted to one lane beginning today. The restriction is necessary to enlarge work space on the dam to support the next construction phase of the Center Hill Dam Foundation Remediation Project, installation of the foundation barrier wall. During the two-year duration of the lane restriction, an automated traffic control system will safely manage vehicles across the dam. The maximum wait time is five minutes. [Read More]

NR 12-048: Corps schedules four public information meetings on planned restrictions near dams

NR 12-047: Nashville District launches new public web site today

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Dec. 21, 2012) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is launching a new public web site today. Although the site features an updated appearance, the Universal Resource Locator, or web address, remains www.lrn.usace.army.mil. The official switch will occur at noon central standard time, but it may take anywhere up to 24 hours for it to populate on servers for worldwide viewing. [Read More]

NR 12-046: Nashville District announces plans to tighten restrictions around Corps Dams

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is finalizing plans to implement 24/7 restricted waterborne access to hazardous waters immediately upstream and downstream of all Corps-owned locks and dams, flood control dams and multipurpose dams on the Cumberland River and its adjoining tributaries.
