Dear PTA Members,
I hope everyone had a restful break these holidays. Now we are back on track. The next few months we have a lot of functions going on. We are starting this semester with the Attractions value and dinning coupon book. Proceeds from this fundraiser will help us buy a better sound system for the multipurpose room for our "Gator's Only" movie night. So let's all help get our school a new sound system by having full participation.We had a drawing contest for a new alligator. This gator will be on our spring t-shirts and recycle bags. Winner will be announced next week.Our students have been working hard on their art projects for our Original Works fundraiser that start next month. Parents will be able to order many different items with the art work on it. It is a great way to preserve and share your student's work with friends and family.As always, thanks for being great parents and volunteering your time to the school. Parents are welcome to volunteer for anything by just contacting the PTA at bitzpta@gmail.com.

Wendy’s Night
Still tired from all the holiday hustle and bustle? Want a break from the kitchen? Wendy’s night will be on Tuesday, January 18th. Take a night off of cooking and support your child’s school! We receive a percentage of the sales proceeds from 5:00-8:00 pm. So come on out and let’s support our school!

Bitz School Store
School Store is open every Friday during lunch from 10:30-12:30. The store is always a big hit with the kids, and they look forward to shopping each week. Items in the School Store differ from month to month and prices start at $0.10. The school store is also selling recorders this month for $5.00. Please do not send in bills larger than $5. Volunteers are needed to help run the school store. If interested, please contact the School Store Chairperson at vpbitzpta@gmail.com.

Box Tops
We are still collecting box tops every Wednesday morning from 8:15 to 8:45 in the hallway by the cafeteria. Every box tops counts to help raise money for our school!

Writer’s Cafe
Writer’s Café will begin for Fourth Graders on Wednesday, January 19, 2011, from 1:45-2:40. It runs every Wednesday until February 16.The Writer’s Café Tea for Fifth Grade authors who have completed a book will be held on January 25, 2011, from 9:00-9:30 am in the multi-purpose from. Fundraising
I am excited to work with you and your children this year as we FUN-draiser for the students at Bitz. The money raised will be used for assemblies, special events, and to purchase supplies that enrich the learning of the children. We continue to do our traditional fundraising events like: Popcorn Sales, Box Tops, Bake Sales, Gator Nights, Wendy’s Nights, and more. Thank you for all you do to help make this a great school year! Yearbook Volunteers
Parents, have you been looking for a way to volunteer this year, but weren’t sure how? Have we got a job for you! We need volunteers to help with the yearbook committee. We are looking for volunteers to work on grade level pictures and to come to events to take pictures. We also need a volunteer to collect baby pictures for our 5th graders. Popcorn Fridays are here! If your child does not have a Popcorn Pass, make sure to tuck $.25 in his/her book bag. Hey, even if they have a Popcorn Pass, you can send in quarters for extra bags. I know a lot of family members who like to get their popcorn fix every Friday. For those of you interested in helping, please feel free to contact me at bitzpta@gmail.com. Popping hours are from 8am until 10:30am. Most of the time, we finish earlier. As of now, teams will pop about once every two months. This is a great way to volunteer, especially if you have limited time. Thanks for all of your support! It’s much appreciated!
