Rokita Fights for Hoosier Jobs; Cosponsors Medical Device Repeal

(Washington, D.C.) – U.S. Rep. Todd Rokita, a member of the House Budget Committee and the House Medical Technology Caucus, cosponsored legislation introduced yesterday to repeal the job-killing Medical Device Tax that was included as part of ObamaCare.

            “Today I stand with Hoosier medical industry workers in supporting the repeal of this job-killing Red Tape tax that threatens the livelihoods of over 20,000 Hoosiers in the medical device industry at companies like Cook Medical, Boston Scientific and more.  I thank Representative Paulsen for leading the charge by authoring this legislation and I look forward to working towards its passage in the House.”

Rokita, who launched the Red Tape Rollback program in partnership with the Indiana Chamber of Commerce, has been a leader in the repeal of the medical device tax, and was a cosponsor of the legislation in the 112th Congress.  It passed the House on June 7, 2012.  The repeal of the tax is an open case in the Red Tape Rollback program.  Learn more about Red Tape Rollback here.
