Volunteers

During each school year volunteers give their time and energy to enrich the lives and education of Walker Students. Without Volunteers, many of our activities and programs would be less effective. We invite you to volunteer your time and talents to helping Walker Students.

Throughout the school year we will have special projects that will need volunteers. If you have any questions or concerns about volunteering, please contact our counselor, at 624-7332 or the principal, Todd Kreider, at 624-7835.

Some examples of volunteer work, but certainly not all, are: helping encourage and monitor the Presidential Fitness Tests, Art Show preparation, tutoring, mentoring, field trips, helping with Book Fairs, Academic Team activites, Field Day in May, class parties, and many others. We'd love to have your assistance and you'll be surprised at the satisfaction volunteering brings.

In this era of increased security-awareness, the DoD has set guidelines on screening volunteers to protect our young people. they require two forms to be completed for all volunteers. These are availiable at each school, or may be downloaded.

NOTE: The forms are fillable online, but all signatures must be hand- signed. However, volunteer forms for one-day events like a field trip, classparty, field day, a dance, etc may be obtained at the WALKER office and also are turned in there.

Under command memorandum, service members may have up to two half-days to volunteer in the Fort Knox Community Schools.
