After graduating from Western Michigan University with a BBA in Accounting in 1975, Jeff Bergeron joined Arthur Andersen & Co. He was admitted to the partnership in 1986 and served as the Managing Partner of the Detroit office of Andersen from 1999 to 2002
Joining Ernst &Young in 2002 as Detroit Office Managing Partner, Mr. Bergeron has grown the office from 225 employees to approximately 500. He has 35 years professional experience and inspires countless individuals to follow his professional footsteps.
Mr. Bergeron believes in working to build a better community. In 2011, serving as chair for the United Way of Southeast Michigan’s Campaign Cabinet, Mr. Bergeron and the CEO of United Way proposed and secured an extraordinary $27.1 million donation from the General Motors Foundation. This unprecedented grant will support seven Detroit high schools as part of United Way’s High School Turnaround Initiative.
In addition to service on the board of United Way for Southeastern Michigan, Mr. Bergeron is Chairman of the Citizens Research Council of Michigan and serves on the Boards of Directors of the Detroit Economic Club, and Bloomfield Hills Country Club. He serves as the only male Director of the Inforum Center for Leadership, working to increase the number of women in high-growth start ups through entrepreneurial training.
