Disbursement of Aid

Disbursement of Aid

If the student has been determined eligible to receive financial aid including scholarships, grants and loans, funds will be applied after the end of the drop/add period each semester. You must be enrolled at least half-time after the drop/add period for payment to be applied to your account.

Scholarships
You must be enrolled for a minimum of 6 credit hours at Walsh College as well as meeting all other conditions of your scholarship award.

Grants
Pell, SEOG and the Michigan Tuition Grant will be prorated based on your enrollment if you are enrolled less than full-time.

Federal Direct Loans and Federal Direct Graduate PLUS Loans
Loan funds are received from the government by EFT at the end of the drop/add period and will be applied to your account after enrollment is verified. If your enrollment has changed since your loan was certified your eligibility may be reduced and an adjustment may be necessary.

Federal  Direct Parent Loans
PLUS loan funds are applied in the same way as Federal Direct Loans.

Alternative Loans
Private loan funds are usually received by EFT, however some lenders may disburse funds by check and may require your signature before funds can be applied to your account. You will be notified if you must endorse a loan check.

Refund Checks
Please note that if your financial aid disbursement creates a credit balance on your account The Business Office will issue a refund check which will be mailed to your address on file with the Records Office at the College. You may refer to the Business Office web page for details concerning refund checks.
