BBA - Finance

BBA - Finance

Our finance degree (Bachelor of Business Administration - BBA-FIN) gives you the expertise needed to excel in finance, whether you work for a large corporation or a small professional group. Walsh College courses give you a deep understanding of financial theory, planning and analytical skills, and the ability to think strategically. Course work includes economics, finance, and investments and credit analysis. You graduate prepared to start your career in many areas: bank branch managers, stockbrokers, underwriters, financial planners, and financial analysts.

Finance Skills for Career Opportunities
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the deregulation of the banking industry has allowed banks, insurance companies, and brokerage firms to broaden their financial services portfolios, creating additional need for financial analysts and personal financial advisors. Financial managers are among the occupations in Michigan adding the most jobs that require a bachelor’s degree, with projected openings expected to grow.

Salary Expectations
Starting salaries for BBA-Finance students range from $35,000 to $50,000 per year. With six years of experience, salary ranges increase to $56,000 to $78,000 per year. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, many financial analysts receive a yearly bonus in addition to their salary. This bonus usually depends on the accuracy of their predictions. Financial advisors who manage a client’s assets usually charge a percentage of those assets. Many financial advisors also receive commissions for the financial products they sell.
