Discipline
Scott Middle School endeavors to provide apply a consistent, fair, and equitable discipline code of conduct for all students. It is hoped that our students will grow to understand and realize that the choices they make daily result in consequences commensurate to their choices.
The purpose of the Code of Student Conduct is to provide uniform guidelines to help assure a stable learning environment, provide a clear set of regulations governing the behavior of students, establish guidelines for certain infractions of the regulations, and clarify formal and informal procedural due process rights.
This document recites many offenses and related disciplinary actions. Disciplinary action for offenses has been, and continues to be, used only in an attempt to correct unacceptable behavior. Enforcing the remedies enumerated in this code protects the rights of all students as well as the normal school processes.
Each student, upon registering at Scott Middle School, will receive an agenda book that contains the expected code of conduct for students.
