I invite you to attend a forum at the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) regarding compensatory time off for travel. The forum will be held in the OPM Campbell auditorium on Thursday, February 3, 2005, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
The Federal Workforce Flexibility Act of 2004 (Public Law 108-411, October 30, 2004) established a new form of compensatory time off for time spent by an employee in a travel status away from the employee's official duty station when such time is not otherwise compensable.
Crediting compensatory time off for time in a travel status will present new issues and administrative challenges for agencies. I encourage you to invite your human resources specialists to join us at the forum and take full advantage of this opportunity.
