Advising Appointments

Appointments can be scheduled for career advising, planning and assessment, preparing a resume, job search techniques, mock interviews and general advice.  We recommended that students start to participate as soon as enrollment starts at Walsh.  Day and evening appointments are available online or at the Troy, Novi and UC campuses.  To schedule an appointment, call 248-823-1625 or e-mail Career Services.

Blackstone LaunchPad

Blackstone LaunchPad offers one-on-one consulting to help students and alumni develop and grow their ideas into a business. They can also help with business plan evaluation, developing a team, strategy, and basic guidance.  Consulting is provided by the Blackstone LaunchPad staff as well as with volunteer mentors from the business community.

Career Assessments

It is important to find a career that you will enjoy.  Various assessment tools are available that can assist you in exploring your interests and finding a field that matches.  A career assessment does not guarantee a perfect career.  However, it is an excellent tool to narrow down your options and give you ideas that you might not have thought to explore.

Campus Recruiting

Employers interview upcoming graduates for internships and professional positions.

  • Winter recruiting:  February and March
  • Fall recruiting:  October and November

Career Fairs, Special Events, and Workshops

  • Bi-annual career fairs are held in the spring at Novi and in the fall at Troy.
  • Frequently networking events are held with employers and professional associations.
  • Periodically workshops are held on career-related topics.
  • Monthly Job Club meetings are held on various job search related topics.

Employer Information and Recruiter Tables

Companies recruit for current and anticipated future openings.  They also provide information about their business.

Job Listings

More than 1,000 employers post over 2,000 positions at Walsh annually.  Internships and jobs are posted in eRecruiting within the Portal.  Alumni can access the Portal by requesting an account.

Mock Interviews

We want to ensure you will have a successful trasition into your career.  Mock interviews are an important part of being completely prepared for the job search process and ensuring a positive outcome.  Call 248-823-1625 to schedule a mock interview.  An experience career advisor will conduct your interview.  Behavorial interview questions will be asked and your interviewer will provide feedback.

Note:  Mock interviews are required in order to participate in on-campus recruiting.
