Student Email Migration
Why is Walsh changing the student email system?
- Size – Mailbox storage limits will increase from 25 MB to 10 GB.
- The opportunity for students to become familiar with a Microsoft Office 365. More companies are likely to adopt this platform in the coming years.
- Receive e-mail on their smart phones through active sync or access e-mail through IMAP / POP3
What email system is Walsh moving to?
How will I access my new student email account?
- The same way that you do today, the student home page of the Walsh Portal.
Will I still have access to my message history (sent and received)?
- Yes. All of your old email messages have been migrated into the new email system.
When will the migration to the new student email system happen?
- The migration began on Friday, November 9 at 8:00 a.m. and was completed on Sunday, November 11 at 11:00 p.m.
Will I need to do anything during the migration?
- No. All your old email messages will be migrated automatically to the NEW email system.
Is the new system difficult to use?
- The web interface of Microsoft Office 365 is very similar to other web based email system (Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo, etc.) that you are likely already familiar with using.
If I had configured email forwarding, will the configuration be setup in the new system?
