Radiological Series, Train the Trainer (RAD TtT)

Target Audience/Disciplines

Instructors or trainers from emergency service disciplines who are responsible for training the first and second level responders who are members of a hazardous material or radiological response team. Disciplines may include: Emergency Management, Emergency Medical Services, Fire Service, Law Enforcement, Public Health, Hospital/Medical, and Public Works. Federal agencies may send instructors as well; these may generally be from DOE, EPA, HHS, and FEMA.

Course Description

The Radiological Series Train-the-Trainer (RAD TtT) is a four-day course designed for individuals the state has identified as part of a cadre of instructors and trainers responsible for providing radiological training in their jurisdictions.  The course is designed to strengthen the capacity of trainers by applying principles of adult learning and training and facilitation skills in practice training sessions. RAD TtT provides students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to conduct the training for which they are responsible.

Additional Qualifications/Certifications

Participants must have completed Fundamentals Course for Radiological Response; IS 301, Radiological Emergency Response; IS 346, Orientation to Hazardous Material for Medical Personnel; and PER-904, Radiological Emergency Response Operations.
