Synthetic Cognition

Goal

Our work focuses on the computational primitives that enable the human brain with its exceptional computational abilities and to implement them as large- scale synthetic cognition computational systems that match or surpass human performance. This goal presents the following challenges:

• The integration of theoretical, computational, and experimental capabilities and resources that can determine, implement, and test synthetic cognitive systems against human performance
• Access to massive computational resources at the petascale
