2006 Economic Outlook Roundtable: Scenarios for the Next U.S. Recession Complete Transcript – 2006 Economic Outlook Roundtable: Scenarios for the Next U.S. Recession - PDF 3.9mb (PDF Help) Thursday, January 19, 2006 The U.S. economy has brushed off a series of shocks in recent years to post consistently strong rates of growth. However, threats to the expansion are expected to persist in 2006, possibly in the form of new inflationary pressures, rising interest rates, and an inevitable cooling off of U.S. housing markets. Given these challenges, it is never too early to think about what the next U.S. recession will look like and how it might affect FDIC-insured institutions. The 2006 FDIC Economic Outlook Roundtable brought together a distinguished group of economic analysts to share their scenarios for the next recession and to offer risk management advice for bank managers.
