WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Steve Daines was sworn in today as Montana’s representative for the 113th Congress.
Daines took the oath of office en masse with all members of Congress at approximately 2:00PM EST on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives. This afternoon, Daines was individually sworn in by Speaker of the House John Boehner at a ceremonial swearing in. While taking the oath of office, Daines held a Bible owned by his grandfather, who resided in Ledger, Mont. during the early 1900s.

The One Hundred Thirteenth United States Congress is the next meeting of the legislative branch of the United States federal government, composed of the United States Senate and the United States House of Representatives. It is scheduled to meet in Washington, D.C. from January 3, 2013 to January 3, 2015.
The 113th United States Congress will begin on January 3, 2013. There are at least 12 new senators (3R, 8D, 1I) and 67 new representatives (29R, 38D).
