Description

View charts and tables with key data and download tables of key data on public elementary and secondary education for each state. [NOTE: Each state defines its own academic content, assessments, and academic achievement standards; therefore, achievement results are not comparable across states. In addition, because states periodically review and revise their assessment systems, it is often not possible to compare trends within a state across years.] Following the passage of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), the U.S. Department of Education has collected more data than ever before about the academic performance of our students and schools. See data on how we are doing as a nation-student achievement in reading and math, high school graduation rates, schools making adequate yearly progress, highly qualified teachers, student participation in tutoring and school choice options, state participation in flexibility options, and more. ED Data Express is a Web site designed to improve the public's ability to access and explore high-value state-level education data collected by the U.S. Department of Education. The site is designed to be interactive and to present the data in a clear, easy-to-use manner, with options to download information into Excel or manipulate the data within the Web site. The site currently includes data from EDFacts, Consolidated State Performance Reports (CSPR), State Accountability Workbooks, the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), the National Assessment of Education Progress (NAEP), the College Board, and the Department's Budget Service office. The ED Data Express site currently includes school counts, student counts, advanced placement test data, state test data, NAEP data, funding data, highly qualified teacher data, school choice and supplemental educational services, adequate yearly progress data, counts of schools in need of improvement, statistical components, AYP components, annual measurable objectives, and other accountability workbook data.
