Hydropalooza - An Ocean and Coastal Mapping Effort

Scientists from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) conducted a large-scale project called Hydropalooza in Alaska´s Kachemak Bay during the summer of 2008 and 2009 to map Kachemak Bay´s seafloor and coastline. Ships, aircraft, and land teams worked to bring Alaskans accurate data used to support safe maritime transportation, protect coastal communities, assess fisheries and critical marine habitats, and better understand the Bay.
