124th Wing

The 124th Fighter Wing is operationally gained by the Air Combat Command, and is located at Gowen Field Air National Guard Base, in Boise, Idaho. The federal mission of the 124th Fighter Wing is to properly equip and train personnel in a high state of readiness for immediate tasking. Its state mission under Title 32 United States Code is to, at the call of the Governor of the State of Idaho, provide personnel and equipment to assist civil authorities prior to, during and after emergencies or disasters and to protect life and property, and preserve peace, order and public safety.

<p>Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) Specialists are the most skilled and courageous Airmen in the entire Air National Guard. They are Ranger and Airborne qualified, proficient in air assault, scuba operation, and various parachute tactics, and maintain the highest physical and mental standards. You'll find TACP Specialists imbedded on the front lines of war among Army and Marine Special Force units to provide U.S. and allied forces with tactical air support for ground attack fighters. As a TACP Specialist, you and your team engages enemy forces utilizing advanced technologies and weapon systems to direct air strikes in close proximity of friendly forces. <p>How would you like to be the first to test the latest prototype weapons system in the militaryYou might get a chance to do just that in a career in Aircraft Armament Systems. As an Aircraft Armament Systems Specialist, you'll operationally check and electrically test aircraft weapons release and gun systems, drive bomb lift trucks, and control many different types of test equipment and gauges, doing repairs as needed. As the Chaplain, you'll play an important role in the spiritual care of Air Guard men and women.  You'll attend to Air Guard members who are struggling with personal stress or spiritual turmoil, and also manage important religious ceremonies like weddings, memorial services, baptisms, and more.
