Aquatics has four major components:

1. Providing lifeguard services, including rescues, first aid and water safety awareness programs at County beach parks and swimming pools
2. Facilitating aquatics oriented recreational programs such as learn-to-swim, age-group swimming and diving, exercise and therapeutic classes, water safety and first aid certification classes
3. Conducting in-service training for County lifeguards and ocean safety officers to keep water safety skills and certifications up-to-date
4. Pool maintenance & repairs including pumps, chlorinators, valves, motors, drains, pipe leaks, pool surfaces & heater repairs as well as basic pool vacuuming, filter backwashes and (hazardous) chemical pool treatments to keep water clear and safe.
