The U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division in McAllen, Texas, will offer a free informational outreach forum to assist small business employers in the Rio Grande Valley with requirements of Section 13 (a)(1) of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Topics to be covered include minimum wage requirements, that apply to most employees in the United States of $7.25 per hour for all hours worked and time and one-half the regular rate of pay for all hours worked over 40 in a workweek. And exemption from both minimum wage and overtime pay for workers employed as bona fide executive, administrative, professional and outside sales.
Additionally, technical guidance will be provided in properly applying these exemptions. Pre-registration is required by calling 956-665-7535.
