Mission
The mission of the IACP Foundation is to serve law enforcement by securing and providing financial resources to support leadership, education, training and research programs, and to assist survivors of law enforcement officers killed and disabled in the line of duty. This mission is accomplished by the following means:
- Sponsoring education and training programs for law enforcement officers;
- Sponsoring research designed to improve law enforcement services and publishing the results of such research; and
- Providing financial assistance for education purposes to needy survivors of law enforcement officers who are killed or disabled in the line of duty.
Vision
The IACP Foundation shall be a recognized leader within the police community in marshaling resources of sponsors, partners, IACP members, and other supporters in sponsoring innovative programs to produce state of the art research, education, training, and survivor support for the police community. These programs will provide progressive solutions that enhance and improve public safety, security, and quality of life in our global community.
Promise
The Foundation will be a conduit for the advancement of professional policing; it will cultivate and perpetuate funding that will support leadership, education, training and research programs and survivor support.
The Foundation will partner with likeminded individuals and organizations to engage in sustained and successful fundraising pursuits that support the ongoing professional development of law enforcement officers and executives; the Foundation will also continuously examine and respond to emerging issues in contemporary policing.
