NHAS Implementation Dialogues
In two earlier blog posts we outlined the topic and format for a series of regional dialogues that the White House Office of National AIDS Policy will convene to focus attention on issues related to implementation of the National HIV/AIDS Strategy. These events will be a forum for Federal, state and local agency representatives, researchers, clinicians, the HIV community, and leaders from the business, foundation, faith and media sectors to share their diverse expertise, and collaborative experience.
Registering for the Events
The events are free, open to the public, anyone can attend. To help us better plan each event we ask that you register in advance for each of the events that you are interested in attending. You may register for as many events as you wish to attend.
Upon submitting your registration, you will receive a detailed confirmation letter via email.

When will you hold one of these sessioons in Ohio, like – Columbus, Dayton or Cincinnati?
Thank you for continuing to move the agenda forward. Having a National Strategy on HIV is huge for those of us in the field addressing this issue with persons that are infected and affected.
However, I am concerned that the RURAL communities are not being addressed. The monies follow the number of infections but the funding streams are so few flowing in our communities that we do not have resources to routinely test, develop modules to work with schools and the faith based community.
You continue to use statistics that are normed on other populations and applied to us.
It is time to implement the promise to send the resources where the needs are, I am requesting that you empower us in the rural areas to address HIV/AIDS. I live in a region that is rural that is larger than West Virginia in both land mass and population but the funds coming to this region are shallow in comparison. Why? Because we have not received the resources to deal with this matter.Because we have not reported the number of infections to command the resources. Which comes first the chicken or the egg.
I sincerely hope you will consider my position. Rural communities are also seeing a return of people who left these areas because of life style choices that are returning.We need resources to assist them. We need to trace these new migrations back to rural communities and the resources need to follow them.
