1. Neither restriction nor extra duties will be
served by members performing Inactive Duty Training. Also,
restriction will not be served unless the member is at an
installation, camp, or field-type duty away from home station or
under circumstances where commuting home on a daily basis is not
normally authorized. Combinations of extra duties and restriction
cannot exceed the maximum days allowed for extra duty.

2. In an appropriate case, the effective date of
punishment may be designated as a later date in an action imposing
punishment or vacating a suspension. For example, if the member is
already undergoing a punishment of restriction, the effective date
of the new punishment of restriction may be designated to coincide
with the termination of the earlier punishment of restriction.

3. The grade from which reduced must be within
the promotion authority of the imposing commander or of any officer
subordinate to the imposing commander. Also, enlisted personnel in
grades E-7, E-8 and E-9 cannot be reduced more than one grade, and
E-8s and E-9s cannot be reduced without the written approval of the
Adjutant General.

4. Amount of forfeiture is computed at the
reduced grade, even if suspended, if reduction is part of the
punishment imposed. "One days pay" shall, in the case of Inactive
Duty Training, constitute the pay for one unit training assembly.
