1. Neither restriction nor extra duties will be served by members performing Inactive Duty Training. Also, restriction will not be served unless the member is at an installation, camp, or field-type duty away from home station or under circumstances where commuting home on a daily basis is not normally authorized. Combinations of extra duties and restriction cannot exceed the maximum days allowed for extra duty.

2. In an appropriate case, the effective date of punishment may be designated as a later date in an action imposing punishment or vacating a suspension. For example, if the member is already undergoing a punishment of restriction, the effective date of the new punishment of restriction may be designated to coincide with the termination of the earlier punishment of restriction.

3. The grade from which reduced must be within the promotion authority of the imposing commander or of any officer subordinate to the imposing commander. Also, enlisted personnel in grades E-7, E-8 and E-9 cannot be reduced more than one grade, and E-8s and E-9s cannot be reduced without the written approval of the Adjutant General.

4. Amount of forfeiture is computed at the reduced grade, even if suspended, if reduction is part of the punishment imposed. "One days� pay" shall, in the case of Inactive Duty Training, constitute the pay for one unit training assembly.
