Brodi Fontenot serves as the Assistant Secretary for Administration, the Chief Human Capital Officer (CHCO), and the Senior Sustainability Officer (SSO). As Assistant Secretary, he provides leadership and oversight in the areas of human resources, security, acquisitions and grants, transportation and facilities, and space management. As the SSO, he is responsible for implementation, oversight and management of the Department’s energy, environmental and sustainability goals for approximately 11,000 buildings and 6,000 vehicles operated by the Department.
Brodi joined the Department in July 2009 as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Management and Budget. Prior to joining DOT, he was a staff member of the US Senate Budget Committee. In this role, Brodi analyzed and made recommendations to the Committee Chairman on budget requests of DOT and other federal agencies. Brodi has also held leadership positions at the Government Accountability Office where he worked on issues such as housing, disaster assistance, and budgeting for capital projects.
