Upcoming Weekend Activities

It’s November, which we now know means that snow season has arrived here in NYC. Even if you’re not one of those running in the marathon this weekend, there’s still plenty to do for those not content sitting on the couch! 

Birding in Flushing Meadows Park – Bring your binoculars and your love of the great outdoors and explore the rich wildlife our city has to offer! Your viewing experience will be facilitated by a team of knowledgeable Park Rangers. Saturday, November 5, 10 a.m. 

Bronx River Bike Tour – Join Bronx native Mike Gupta and hear him explain the rich history of the river while you explore remnants of the 19th century’s Bronx River Water System. Sunday, November 6, 12 p.m. 

Discover Tour in Prospect Park – Take a walk with one of Prospect Park’s naturalists to watch for animals, and investigate little-known facts about the park and its animal residents. Sunday, November 6, 3 p.m. – 4 p.m.

Fall Fungus Foray – Curious about the myriad mushrooms cropping up this fall season? Join Paul Sadowski (he’s a fun guy) of the New York Mycological Society and explore the woods in pursuit of fungi. Saturday, November 5, 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.

Health Fair at Faber Park – Bring the family and learn about ways to get healthy! There will be fitness classes and demonstrations all day. Saturday, November 5, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Marathon Concert – Cheer on the runners with live music as they complete their 23rd mile! Sunday, November 6, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
