Medicare Finalizes New Rules to Require Equal Visitation Rights for all Hospital Patients

Earlier this week, the U.S. Centers for Medicaid and Medicare (CMS) finalized a new rule which requires hospitals to let patients decide who can visit them. This new rule will “empower patients to designate their own visitors, including a same-sex domestic partner”. This is an important change for the HIV community. To learn more about this new rule read this press statement from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
