24 September 2012: State Alumni Wins OAAG Award
U.S. Department of State Alumni are intelligent, hardworking individuals who excel in their fields long after their Department of State programs end. Recently, one of our alumna, Sandra Dyck, Director of the Carleton University Art Gallery (CUAG), was recognized by the Ontario Association of Art Galleries (OAAG) with a Curatorial Writing Award. Ms. Dyck received her award for an essay on the internationally recognized Cape Dorset artist Shuvinai Ashoona.
The essay was published by CUAG in a catalog entitled, Shuvinai Ashoona Drawings (2012). Ms. Dyck has been the recipient of this award on two previous occasions for similarly exceptional writings on artists and their art. We would like to congratulate Ms. Dyck and wish her well in her future endeavors.
