Farah Pandith, the State Department's Special Representative to Muslim Communities, will visit Ottawa from November 15th to 17th. While in Canada, she will speak with various stakeholders about her work and what her office is doing to reach out to Muslim Communities around the world. Of particular note to the general public is a special presentation she will be giving at the University of Ottawa on November 16th at noon. Ms. Pandith will be speaking about 2011 Hours Against Hate, a campaign that she helped to launch in early 2011 and that focuses on getting young people all over the world to volunteer their time to build stronger communities that value pluralism and diversity and reject hate and bigotry. A question and answer period will follow.

Ms. Pandith was appointed Special Representative to Muslim Communities in June 2009. Her office is responsible for executing Secretary Clinton's vision for engagement with Muslims around the world on a people-to-people and organizational level. She reports directly to the Secretary of State.
