Carter Welcomes Wounded Warrior to Congressional Staff
03/09/09
Carter, House Republican Conference Secretary, joined House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) in introducing the first nine veterans who will serve a two-year stint as congressional fellows under the program.
“Nobody better knows what a veteran has been through and needs than a fellow veteran,” says Carter, “and this program delivers that fellow directly to congressional offices where they can serve very effectively in coordinating veterans affairs for our returning service men and women.”
The Wounded Warrior program links medically-discharged veterans with congressional offices in need of veterans’ affairs specialists. Myers will be stationed in the Round Rock Congressional District Office.
(WASHINGTON, DC) – Congressman John Carter (R-TX) today welcomed Army veteran Jarod Myers, 24 of Round Rock to the district staff as a veterans’ affairs specialist, as part of a bi-partisan kickoff ceremony for the Wounded Warrior Program at the U.S. Capitol in Washington.
