Carter Honors Fort Hood Soldiers, Families with Resolution
11/06/09(WASHINGTON, DC) – The U.S. House of Representatives today introduced a resolution recognizing the Fort Hood soldiers whose lives were lost or who were injured during Thursday’s tragedy.
Congressman John Carter (TX-31), whose district includes Fort Hood, sponsored H. Res. 895, which reads:
"A Resolution – Honoring the lives of the brave soldiers and civilians of the United States Army who died or were wounded in the tragic attack of November 5, 2009 at Fort Hood, Texas. The American people share the pain and grief of this tragic loss. Our thoughts and prayers will continue to be with the families of those who were so unfortunately taken from them."
Congressman Chet Edwards, who represented Fort Hood for 14 years, managed the House floor proceedings because Congressman Carter is spending time with victims and officials at Fort Hood.
