is an organizational concept incorporated at the Geographic and
National Level Coordination Centers. It is the assimilation
of the Fire Intelligence Section and the Fire Weather Program at
these levels toproduce various interrelated products. At the
Southern California Coordination Center, these two sections will
continue to produce their long-standing products, but will collaboratively
work together, along with a detailed Fire Behavior Analyst (FBAN)
during the fire season, as the OSCC Predictive Services Group producing
daily, weekly, monthly, and seasonal Fire Weather / Fire Danger
Outlook products.
INTELLIGENCE...The
Intelligence Section provides fire management personnel, incident
managers, firefighters and support staff with access to current
intelligence on preparedness levels, fire situation, resources,
mapping and satellite imagery, climatology, preparedness levels,
resource availability and rotations, and fire potential information.
WEATHER...The
weather unit acts as the local meteorological consultant for Southern
California Geographic Area Coordination Center and provides daily
fire season weather briefings, regional fire weather and other forecasts
and services.
FUELS/FIRE
DANGER...This area will contain
Fire Danger Rating System reports, pocket cards and charts,
for OSCC area and Wildland
Fire Assessment System products relating to fuels.
OUTLOOKS...Outlooks
are made with the most recent weather data available. It is a general
report intended to provide fire management personnel with an area
wide outlook.
WILDLAND FIRE DECISION SUPPORT SYSTEMS (WFDSS)...A system of accepted models for risk-informed decision making in support of wildland fires.
