Happy Veteran’s Day weekend! We’ve had unseasonably warm weather recently – get out there and enjoy it before it’s too late.

Bronx River Ramble: Check out the Bronx River Gorge on this guided walk through restored native woodland and learn about the river’s rich folklore. Saturday, November 12, 10 a.m.

Fall Tree Care Workshop: Learn how to care for street trees and receive a free street tree care kit if you adopt a tree. Saturday, November 12, 11 a.m.

Green Breakfast Club: Network with other leaders of the local green business community. Monday, November 14, 8 a.m.

Meet and Greet Rescued Wildlife: What happens to injured animals in need of help? Meet New York State licensed wildlife rehabilitators and some of the wildlife they have rescued. Saturday, November 12, 1 p.m.

Million Trees NYC Community Planting Event: Volunteer to make an environmental impact by helping to plant 30 gallon trees in Brooklyn. Registration required. Saturday, November 12, 10 a.m.

Performing Arts on the High Line: Come check out Half-mythical, Half-legendary Americanism, an original dance-theater work that will be performed for free on the High Line. Saturday, November 12, noon.

Veteran’s Day Parade: Honor our veterans, listen to the bands, and watch the floats go by at the annual parade up 5th Avenue. Friday, November 11, 11 a.m.

Volunteer Leaf Cleanup: Free coffee and donuts for volunteers who show up at Westerleigh Park in Staten Island. Saturday, November 12, 9 a.m. to noon.

Winter Waterfowl Birding: Head out to Marine Park in Brooklyn for winter waterfowl viewing. Sunday, November 13, 1 p.m.

    Thanks for listing some of the weekend activities happening this fall. Good info on the workshop on how to prep your trees during the fall to stay healthy in the winter months.
