The Neurosurgery Service provides adult care for the entire spectrum of neurosurgical disorders: intracranial, peripheral nerve, neurovascular, congenital and spinal disorders. This includes treatment of tumors, aneurysms, avms, shunts, hydrocephalus, spinal disorders (complex, instrumentation and disc) and congenital disorders. The Neurosurgery Service is in the process of establishing a mechanism for telemedicine consultation, and gamma knife capability has been available since April 2000.
Balloon Kyphoplasty is a Minimally Invasive procedure that is indicated for the treatment of painful Vertebral Compression Fractures due to Osteoporosis and Cancer.
