The Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) Southeast is open Monday, Thursday and Fridays from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. to provide basic medical and preventative care, health education, mental health services, addiction counseling, comprehensive women’s health care and nutritional counseling to eligible veterans. Referral services are provided for those who require specialized care.

The clinic is located in the Southeast Veterans Service Center near the intersection of Chesapeake Street and Southern Avenue in Southeast Washington. It is easily accessible by Metrobus routes A6 (Anacostia-Congress Heights Line) and P12 (Eastover-Addison Road Line). The Anacostia subway station is on the A6 route, and the Addison Road subway station is on the P12 route.

Q. How do I make an appointment at the Community Clinic- Southeast?

A. Veterans may call (202) 745-8685 Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to schedule an appointment, for enrollment or to obtain a picture identification card.
Veterans may also call the Medical Center Call Center (202) 745-8577 Monday through Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. to schedule an appointment or for additional information.

Q. What if I need care when the clinic is closed?

A. If your illness is not life-threatening, call the Medical Advice line and a nurse will advise you on what to do and where to seek medical treatment.
If you have a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest hospital emergency room for immediate medical attention.

Q. Who should I call if I have questions about my health care?

A. Call the nurse case manager Mondays Thursdays and Fridays between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at (202)745-8685. At other times you should call the Medical Advice Line nurse.

Q. How do I get my prescriptions filled?

A. During your scheduled visit, this will be discussed with you. The first refill on a new prescription will be automatically mailed to you.
For additional refills by mail you must complete and return the pharmacy refill form that is included with the first refill.

Q. If I need an X-ray can it be done at the Community Clinic?

A. If ordered by your doctor, X-rays will be taken at the Greater Southeast Community Hospital.

Q. Will there be transportation services to the clinic?

A. Under certain circumstances, transportation may be provided. Call the clinic for more information.
