Make the Switch

For Your Home

Making the Green Power Switch is as easy as flipping a light switch. You can buy green power in 150-kilowatt-hour blocks (about 12 percent of a typical household’s monthly use*). Each block you buy will add $4 to your monthly power bill, and you can buy just one block or as many as you like. The green power you pay for will be added to TVA’s electric system as part of the region’s total power mix.

By choosing to pay a little more for Green Power Switch, you help advance the technology and increase the amount of electricity generated from cleaner sources.

For Your Business

Green Power Switch uses renewable energy resources to help improve the environment in the community you and your customers share. Like homeowners, businesses pay $4 for each 150-kilowatt-hour block of Green Power Switch. You can buy specific numbers of these blocks based on the amount of energy your business uses.

For instance, small businesses—those with power requirements of 50 kilowatts or less—are asked to buy at least five blocks per month. That’s an additional charge of only $20 on your monthly utility bill.
