Navy divers from Mobile Dive and Salvage Unit (MDSU) 1, Company 17, embarked aboard the rescue and salvage ship USNS Safeguard (T-ARS 50) conduct dive operations to remove the propellers and rudders from the abandoned Merchant Vessel Cecilia. The model is on loan to the U.S. Embassy in Singapore. Mazel accepted delivery on behalf of the ambassador and defense attaché as a symbol of the Navy's intent to deploy a littoral combat ship to Singapore.
