It is very unusual to see “common sense” and “Congress” in the same sentence. Yet the announcement from freshman Congresswoman Cheri Bustos, D-Ill., might just be exactly that.

A laid-off employee from a company owned by Bain Capital will join Rep. Cheri Bustos (D-Ill.) as her guest at the State of the Union address on Tuesday.
Dot Turner was one of 170 workers at Sensata Technologies' Freeport, Ill., plant who had their jobs offshored to China last year. Turner had worked at the plant for 43 years.
Congresswoman Cheri Bustos appeared on the PBS television series "To The Contrary" on in February 2013.
On the program, Congresswoman Bustos discussed her background, family, priorities and what led her into public service.
