As I've long said, we have a spending problem. It's a shame the President refuses to admit it.

- The 113th Congress began last week and I've signed on to co-sponsor my first two bills of this Congress. A balanced budget amendment, which our nation desperately needs to get our fiscal house in order, and a bill to defund Planned Parenthood, ensuring federal funds aren't used to for abortions.

Our nation has a spending problem, not a revenue problem. That is why last night I voted against a plan that increased spending by $330 billion and increased taxes by $620 billion. Please read my full statement on my website.- Many of you have reached out to me today about the Fiscal Cliff. The House passed two bills earlier this year to avert this cliff. One dealing with the sequester and one extending tax cuts for all Americans. Unfortunately, the Senate has not voted on or amended either. We are waiting for them so we can proceed.
