The mission of the 161st Air Refueling Wing, also known as the Copperheads, is to provide the core aerial refueling capability for the United States Air Force and the Air National Guard. In the ever-changing role of the Air National Guard, the 161st has positioned itself well to meet the challenges of the 21st Century. With the constant threat from around the world, the unit is prepared to go wherever needed, whenever called upon. <p>Landing gear, brakes, flight controls, weapons, cargo door systems these are the systems that form the foundation of an aircraft's capabilities. As an Aircraft Hydraulic Systems Specialist, you are the backbone of the aircraft maintenance team. You'll be responsible for everything dealing with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.  You are the principal advisor for all aircraft when hydraulic issues occur, and you'll be in charge of repairing and maintaining all related ground equipment. <p>Structural Specialists are dedicated to erecting strong frameworks for any kind of building an Air National Guard unit may need from an improvised emergency disaster relief shelter to a formal Air Guard unit facility. <p>If you think you like tinkering around in the car shop, imagine how much you'll love working on the multi-million dollar vehicles the Air National Guard maintains and operates. As a Vehicle and Vehicular Equipment Maintenance Specialist, you'll inspect, troubleshoot and repair vehicles such as dump trucks, bucket loaders, crawler and wheeled tractors, cranes, motor graders, snow removal equipment, sweepers, aircraft cargo loading vehicles, forklifts, aircraft towing vehicles and aircraft servicing vehicles. When a natural disaster strikes or an enemy attacks, the Air Guard needs vehicles that are ready to go. <p>From desktop PCs to top-secret server rooms, the U.S. Air Force operates more computers than almost any other organization in the world. As a Client Systems Specialist in the Air National Guard, it'll be your responsibility to keep this crucial equipment functioning at peak performance. Day to day, you'll keep software and hardware operating properly, and troubleshoot and repair problems that may occur. Client Systems Specialists need at least a secret clearance in order to access classified areas.
