Fallen Hero - MSgt. Tara Brown
The official portrait of Master Sgt. Tara Brown, one of OSI's fallen heroes. MSgt. Brown, 33, of Deltona, Fla., died Apr. 26 near Kabul, Afghanistan of wounds sustained from an Afghan gunman who also killed seven other Airmen as well as an American civilian contractor in a shooting spree in the Afghan Air Force compound in Kabul.
Prior to January, MSgt. Brown was assigned as the Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge, Client Support Technician for Headquarters Air Force Office of Special Investigations Personnel Division at Andrews AFB, Md.
MSgt. Brown was deployed to Afghanistan on Jan. 3, 2011, and was serving a one year tour with NATO Air Training Command as an international trainer on the basic fundamentals on desktop computers and networking to Afghan air force technicians.
According to the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan, an Afghan military pilot opened fire on international troops. The shooting occured at the Afghan national air force compound at North Kabul International Airport.

Honor Flight Network
Air Force Office of Special Investigations members volunteered with the Honor Flight Network May 21 at the WW II memorial in Washington, D.C. Pictured here are Tech. Sgt. Laura Puza, left, and OSI Special Agent Karolyn Derosier, with a WW II veteran. The Honor Flight Network is a non-profit organization created to honor America's veterans. Special Agent Bob Powers, Air Force Office of Special Investigations, reads the engraved names of fallen law enforcement members at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, D.C. SA Powers and several other OSI members visited the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial May 16 to place a memorial wreath and to honor all of OSI's fallen heroes.
