U.S. Canadian Coast Guards to Collaborate on Polar Icebreakers
U.S. Coast Guard Assistant Commandant for Acquisition Rear Adm. John Korn and Deputy Commissioner, Vessel Procurement, Canadian Coast Guard Mr. Michel Vermette, sign a polar icebreaker project annex; part of a Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2009 recognizing “a common interest in the design and construction techniques of ships.”
Coast Guard Station Ponce de Leon Inlet receives RB-M
NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. – The crew of Coast Guard Station Ponce de Leon Inlet receives a new Response Boat-Medium (RB-M), Feb. 7, 2013. The Coast Guard is recapitalizing many of its shore-based boats with the more-capable 45-foot RB-M. To date, the service has delivered 114 RB-M to stations around the country. Guard MH-65 Supports Security Operations for Super Bowl XLVII
