Subject: Cigarette and Smokelss Tobacco Reports

Dear Federal Trade Commission:

The American Lung Association of South Dakota would like to voice our support for continuing issuing periodic reports on the amounts of monies tobacco companies spend yearly to market and promote their deadly products.

The FTC reports are sources of accurate and reliable information on tobacco industry marketing, sales and promotions. They are critical for our nation's public health.

We also request that the FTC expand its reporting by including: state-by-state breakdowns of marketing expenses and company and/or brand specific marketing expenditures.

Unfortunately our state has some of the nation's highest teen smoking rates (44% of our state's teens smoke) .

The reports would help greatly in our educational and legislative efforts to reduce tobacco useage in our state.
