CH2M HILL used explosives to safely lower four exhaust stacks, five baghouses and two water towers associated with power houses on the Central Plateau.
As the primary focus for CH2M HILL, the approximately 75-square-mile Central Plateau in the center of the Hanford Site comprises the 200 Areas, which include the Plutonium Finishing Plant, U Plant, T Plant, numerous industrial facilities, and associated waste sites. The Central Plateau is also the future home of the 200 West pump and treat system that is currently under construction. CH2M HILL is aligned with the DOE vision to complete cleanup along the river and finish key demolition projects to reduce the Hanford Site cleanup footprint to the Central Plateau by 2015.
