Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

There are two distinct sources available.  Both are confidential and do not incur any additional initial costs to you.  First, you are covered through the EAP services which are on site at the Mark Center as part of the Pentagon Employee Referral Service.  Details are:

  • Location is Room B1E02-A in the Mark Center
  • The phone number for this service is (571) 372-5617
  • The service is available Monday-Friday from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Provides appointments between 7:30 AM and 2:30 PM
  • Provides one-on-one problem assessments
  • Provides short term counseling
  • Gives referrals to community resources such as therapists, treatment centers, or support groups as appropriate
  • Assists with follow-up care
  • Assists with crisis intervention
  • Educational workshops and classes are available

You also have a 24 hours a day, 7 days a week service which provides many of the resources listed above.  This service is off site.

  • It can be reached at (800) 222-0364, for TTY at (888) 262-7848, and is also available at www.FOH4YOU.com
  • Other than not being available on site, the program offerings are much the same as above as what is provided at the Mark Center

The scope of EAP is multi-faceted and wide ranging, covering such diverse issues as finances, anger management, stress reduction, work-life balance, dealing with change, elder care, substance abuse, retirement, and many others.

EAP is confidential and you are encouraged to utilize it.  Your first visit with a counselor, if during working hours, will be regarded as excused absence.  There is no requirement to tell your supervisor the nature of your visit or business with EAP, but if utilizing the service during working hours you need prior approval for the absence.  Subsequent visits, if during regular work hours, are subject to normal leave procedures.
