215th Engineering Installation Squadron

Currently located in Everett, Washington, the 215th Engineering Installation Squadron deploys worldwide to fulfill its mission to engineer, install, remove, and relocate C4I information systems and infrastructure such as antennas, cabling, radios, navigational aids, and meteorological equipment. Our experts include electronics and cable/antenna installations specialists, computer aided design and drafting (CADD) technicians, engineers, vehicle maintenance, and supply and administrative support personnel. Recent deployments include Alaska, Hawaii, Curacao, Italy, Hurricane Katrina, and Operations Enduring and Iraqi Freedom. Our unit is projected to move to McChord Field in the summer of 2012.

<p>In order to accomplish your mission, you must have a blueprint for success.  And that's exactly what you'll be creating as an Air National Guard Engineering Specialist. You'll be directing and performing civil engineering design, drafting, surveying, and contract surveillance to support Air Guard facility construction and maintenance programs. You'll help plan, manage and reward construction jobs for a large variety of projects, and create blueprints and plans for building designs.  The skills you'll learn as an Engineering Specialist are directly transferable into a civilian engineering or architectural career.  You'll become an expert at project mapping operations, construction support surveys, road operations, road construction, and building and utilities layout surveys, along with conventional and computer aided drafting (CAD).</p><p>Engineers are specially trained in:</p><ul><li>Computer operations</li><li>Software applications</li><li>Mathematics, including algebra, geometry and trigonometry</li><li>CAD, GIS, surveying, materials testing, drafting, and contract management</li><li>Must have normal color vision</li></ul> Engineering

<p>As an Airfield Systems Specialist, you might find yourself setting up radio and meteorological systems in a remote location near the battle zone, or repairing and maintaining equipment at your local Air Guard unit. In this job you'll install, relocate, deploy, and maintain fixed and mobile meteorological, navigation and air traffic control ground-to-air radio systems.
