The Ken Burns PBS Documentary
"The Dust
Bowl" shows how the forces of man and nature combined to bring ruin to the
land and the people depending on it for survival. The grasslands of the
Great Plains is the focus of most history around this time, but other places
suffered too. Did you live through this worst hard time and have a story
to tell? Perhaps you remember stories told to you by Ohio friends or
relatives? Pictures, like this iconic image by Dorothea Lange in 1936, say
more than any words. Do you have Ohio pictures from this time you'd like
to share? Please contact us if you want to share your Dust Bowl story.
