Current Radio Program:

The program interviews Eugene Schneeberg, Director for the Center for Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships of the US Department of Justice.

Mission:

The Center for Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships leads the U.S. Department of Justice’s efforts to develop partnerships and provide relevant information to faith-based and community organizations and expand their participation in Department of Justice initiatives.

Priority Focus Areas:

Faith and community leaders from across the country are working with the Center for Faith-Based & Neighborhood Partnerships at the U.S. Department of Justice and the White House Office for Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships on a wide variety of issues. The DOJ Center’s focus on three priority areas:

1. Preventing Youth & Gang Violence:

The DOJ CFBNP plays an important leadership role in the coordination of the National Forum on Youth Violence Prevention; www.findyouthinfo.gov/topic_preventingViolence.shtml

2. Promoting Responsible Fatherhood:

The DOJ CFBNP works to advance the goals of the President’s National Fatherhood & Mentoring initiative; www.fatherhood.gov

3. Effective Prisoner Reentry:

Special Announcements:

The National Reentry Resource Center is a project of the Bureau of Justice Assistance, Office of Justice Programs, US Department of Justice. “DC Public Safety” is offering statements of support in radio and television programs for  the American Probation and Parole Association’s (APPA) ”Probation, Parole and Community Supervision Week” throughout the spring and summer.
